Scifi Shanty Town – (part 2 of 3

(This is part 2 of Scifi Shanty town. See Scifi Shanty town Part 1.)

I did the mod podge + black paint step because this is mostly paper and won’t hold up well without it.
It always looks terrible at this stage and makes me concerned I messed up.

I base-coated with a very reddish brown spray paint.

They were good enough to use in a game at this stage.

A lot of my table has incomplete pieces, but its better to just play games with what you have and finish the terrain later.

I used all the terrain I have to build a 4’x4′ table for my first game of Stargrave :).

This is what the shacks looked like after sponge stippling with appropriate rusty colors and a little silver edging.

For the last step, I was considering doing some tan paint with hairspray chipping technique and a dark wash afterwards. However, they look great now so, I am in no rush to do this last step.

Also, #shamegolf doesn’t count terrain. Maybe this makes sense considering its cereal card and cheap craft supplies. Terrain costs almost nothing while miniatures do, even if secondhand from ebay.
So my #shamegolf score still sits at 19.
