I did the mod podge + black paint step because this is mostly paper and won’t hold up well without it.
It always looks terrible at this stage and makes me concerned I messed up.

I base-coated with a very reddish brown spray paint.
They were good enough to use in a game at this stage.

A lot of my table has incomplete pieces, but its better to just play games with what you have and finish the terrain later.

This is what the shacks looked like after sponge stippling with appropriate rusty colors and a little silver edging.


For the last step, I was considering doing some tan paint with hairspray chipping technique and a dark wash afterwards. However, they look great now so, I am in no rush to do this last step.
Also, #shamegolf doesn’t count terrain. Maybe this makes sense considering its cereal card and cheap craft supplies. Terrain costs almost nothing while miniatures do, even if secondhand from ebay.
So my #shamegolf score still sits at 19.

I am an outdoorsy geek. Which is not rare at all. In fact, outdoorsy geeks are some of my favorite people 🙂
